Chef Luis Castro is a dedicated parent and culinary professional who has made it his mission to empower individuals, especially those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), through the art of cooking. With years of experience as a Chef Instructor in programs like LAUSD’s Chef in the Classroom, Luis has successfully taught students of all abilities, including those with special needs, to prepare nutritious meals tailored to their unique skills. Luis believes that everyone is capable of achieving independence and self-determination through skill development. To this end, he is now offering his services to the Regional Center Client Community via the Self Determination Program, which covers the cost of his services. In addition to creating individualized instructional plans, Luis provides personalized training for clients interested in pursuing careers in the culinary arts.
