You’re making a great decision to join the Self Determination program. I am the mother of 3 children with developmental disabilities and an attorney disability rights advocate. My family has received services from 3 different regional centers over the last 30 years, and the centers are not all the same. It’s a good idea to choose an Independent Facilitator who has experience with more than one RC. Each RC has its own way of doing things, and its own service providers. We can help you branch out and consider more ideas and services for the IPP which other RCs may be offering. I will work with you to get the most out of your SDP.
