I am a proud mother of 3 boys. My oldest son now age 18 has autism and epilepsy. It has been a difficult journey and I have been grateful to have mentors along the way. I am happy to help a fellow family with all the knowledge I have gained along the way.
I am a bilingual Independent Facilitator working mainly with the Spanish speaking community. I am a former elementary school teacher and taught 3 years in a special education pre- school program. I am the current chair of the SELPA Community Advisory Committee for the Rowland Unified School District.. I am a member of the CAPTAIN cadre, California Autism Professional Training and Information Network. .I am a current board member of the Parents Place Family Empowerment Center and I was a former Board Member at the San Gabriel Pomona Regional Center. I was a Self Determination Advisory Committee member for 3 years.
As a self-determination coach for the SGPRC, I have assisted in the successful transition of many SGPRC families into the self determination program. I have been able to assist in IPPs, budget meetings, and the Fair Hearing process. As an independent facilitator I have successfully transitioned 4 families into SDP.
