I have worked in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities as an Independent Living Specialist and Recreation Therapist for the past 32 years. Additionally, I am the parent of 3 adult children, 2 of whom are part of the Far Northern Regional Center as they are Autistic. I have advocated and facilitated services for my clients and children for 32+ years. I have a disability, as I am legally blind therefore I have been an advocate and promoting for myself for even longer. It was suggested to me that I look into becoming an independent facilitator. I attended the meeting with FNRC educating me about the Self-determination program. Now I am trying to find IF training to accomplish all required steps to serve clients of FNRC in a greater way than I have been able to. It has been a challenge to find a training. I have a BS degree in Recreation Therapy. I have an MS degree in Nonprofit Leadership. I have a graduate certificate in Social Enterprise and Entrepreneurship. I have 32 years of experience working with FNRC clients.
