Patty Willis

I am in the beginning stages of becoming an IF. I have attended the initial self determination program meeting, applied for a grant offered by Far Northern, and reached out to local IFs. I am very excited about this opportunity. I have worked for the past 32 years as a an independent living specialist/DSP with clients from Far Northern. I am also the parent of 2 adult children who are clients of Far Northern. I have lived in this area for my entire life thus I know it well. I have education as well that supports this career option. Another thing that makes me uniquely qualified is that I also have a disability. I am legally blind. This gives me a special insight for working with others with disabilities. My next steps are completing the IF training, personal centered training, and obtaining a business license. I am eager to connect with others who are in the field.
